Joe Duffy is weekday Afternoon Show presenter, Chair of Dundalk FM 97.7 and the voice of Showband Street, the station’s beloved weekly celebration of the Irish showband era that airs every Sunday at 1pm. In these roles he embodies something essential about what the station stands for: a deep love of Dundalk, a commitment to community, and an understanding that music is how people remember who they are.
The Afternoon Show and Showband Street are, in many ways, a programmes about memory: the music that a generation grew up with, the dances they went to, the people they met. Joe Duffy keeps these memories alive and passes it on.
