David Larkin / Presenter
David Larkin is a presenter at Dundalk FM 97.7, hosting the Saturday Night Show on the second Saturday of every month at 10pm and contributing to the Dundalk Lions Club At Your Service programme, the station’s weekly news service for the visually impaired community.
David joined Dundalk FM in 2019, completing a radio course and finding in the station a community that suited him. The Saturday Night Show is a wide-ranging music programme that has developed a loyal late-night following, offering listeners an evening of carefully chosen music presented with warmth and genuine knowledge.
Beyond his radio work, David Larkin is deeply woven into the civic and community life of Dundalk. He served as President of the Dundalk Lions Club, an organisation that partners with Dundalk FM on the At Your Service programme, and as Chair of dis ABILITY Louth, a local disability advocacy and support organisation. His community commitments give him a particular understanding of the people and issues the At Your Service programme serves, and his involvement in that show is not simply a broadcasting contribution but a continuation of his broader advocacy work.
The At Your Service programme, which has been a Gold Craol Achievement Award winner, provides an essential weekly news and information service to visually impaired listeners in Dundalk and the surrounding area. David is part of a rotating team that includes Pat Byrne and other Lions Club members who produce and present the show.
David is the Monday host of Dundalk’s Community Affair’s Show Town Talk and has a keen interest in helping to promote community events.
His combination of music broadcasting, community service, and civic leadership makes David Larkin one of the more complete contributors in the Dundalk FM family.
