Padraig Quigley is one of the core staff members that is there when new volunteers walk in for the first time, the one who trained generations of presenters on the sound desk, the voice on The Lunchbox every weekday from noon to 2pm, and one of the people most responsible for the station’s culture of warmth and practical generosity.
The Lunchbox, which runs Monday to Friday, is one of the station’s most companionable programmes because listeners can call in for dedications and requests and take part in competitons.
