Peter Kavanagh / Presenter
Peter Kavanagh is a presenter and contributor at Dundalk FM 97.7, playing a key role on Fadó Fadó.
Fadó Fadó is one of Dundalk FM’s most cherished and distinctive shows, a programme dedicated to Irish traditional music, song, and folklore that airs on Monday evenings at 6.00 pm and brings the richness of the Irish musical tradition to the station’s listeners every week. Peter is one of the founding and core members of the show alongside Michael Dowdall and Margaret Mallon. His knowledge of the tradition, the repertoire, and the stories behind the music is both deep and generously shared.
The show’s title, Fadó Fadó, the Irish phrase for long ago, long ago, signals its intentions clearly: this is a programme rooted in respect for where the music came from, but it has never been a museum piece. The team brings personality and genuine love to every episode, making the tradition feel alive and relevant to listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
Peter has been a steadfast and valued member of the Dundalk FM volunteer community for a considerable number of years.
