The sound of Dundalk at the end of the working day, Drive Time brings music, community notices, and warm local conversation to listeners across the town and beyond, Monday to Friday on Dundalk FM 97.7.

Drive Time is broadcast every weekday afternoon as listeners make their way home from work, school, and the business of the day. It is the show that carries people through the transition from the working afternoon into the evening, and it has been a fixture of the station’s output since the earliest days of Dundalk FM.

Drive Time is built around the rhythm of the commute, the school run, and the wind-down, offering a mix of music, community notices, local information, and the kind of warm, relaxed presentation that makes the journey home feel a little shorter and a little brighter.

Drive Time on Dundalk FM has been presented by a number of the station’s most dedicated and well-loved volunteers over the years. Your Drive Time Team is  John Englishby (Monday), Marian Del Duca (Tuesday), Jason Kelly (Wednesday), Seoirse McCann (Thursday) and Ciaran Callan (Friday) each bringing their own style and personality to the slot. That variety of voices reflects something important about community radio, that it is not built around one presenter but around a community of people who each contribute something genuine and distinctive.

As part of the Drive Time broadcast, community notices are read out to keep local listeners informed about what is happening in Dundalk and the surrounding area. Events, announcements, local news, and information from community groups all find their way into the show, making Drive Time as much a community service as it is an entertainment programme.

Drive Time also plays a role in connecting the Dundalk diaspora to home. Listeners in London, Boston, Melbourne, Stuttgart, and beyond regularly tune in online to hear familiar voices and familiar music during their own evenings, and the show has always been a point of connection for people who have left Dundalk but never quite left it behind.

Whether you are stuck in traffic on the Ramparts, heading home from the Marshes, or listening in from the other side of the world, Drive Time on Dundalk FM 97.7 is the sound of Dundalk at the end of the day. Tune in from 4.oopm to 6.00pm from Monday to Friday to stay connected. Give us a call on 042 9395100 or send a WhatsApp message to 087 09 09 791 for a request or dedication.
