Jason Kelly’s story is one of the most powerful and moving in the history of Dundalk FM 97.7, and it is a story about what community radio can genuinely do for a person when it is working exactly as it should.
Jason became involved with Dundalk FM in 2002 as a participant in RehabCare Dundalk. What started as a community involvement activity became, over more than two decades, a defining part of his life. He is now a presenter on Drive Time, contributing on Wednesdays to one of the station’s flagship weekday programmes. He is also a trained sound engineer and a member of the station’s Programme and Technical Committee.
He has been described by people who have worked with him at the station as one of the most dedicated and quietly influential contributors Dundalk FM has had. He shows up, does the work, asks the right questions, and has done so consistently for longer than most presenters have been at the station.
Drive Time airs Monday to Friday in the afternoon. On Wednesdays, it is Jason Kelly’s show.
