5 Irish Tunes airs on the 4th Saturday of the month between 3.00pm and 4.00pm and each show showcases Irish music as selected by a presenter or a listener.
The show is introduced by Alan Byrne and then given over to the presenter to introduce each song and explain the significance of each.
The format is simple and that is exactly why it works. Five tunes, carefully chosen, with the knowledge and care of someone who genuinely loves Irish music in all its forms. From traditional session music to contemporary Irish artists, from folk to country and everything in between – all brought to you by a new voice each month.
